Sipping Into Spring: Why I Drink Herbal Tea (and You Might Want To, Too)

Spring is one of my favorite times to drink herbal tea—though truthfully, I sip tea all year long. There’s something comforting about the ritual of steeping herbs, wrapping your hands around a warm mug, and letting your body soak in the nourishment.

Every season, my tea shifts just a little. Right now, I’m loving a simple but powerful blend that supports energy, mood, and seasonal balance.

My Year-Round Base

These three herbs are always in my cup:

  • Hibiscus – Tart, tangy, and antioxidant-rich. Hibiscus supports heart health and gives the tea a beautiful red hue.
  • Lemon Balm – A mood-lifter and nervous system ally. It’s bright, calming, and good for digestion.
  • Tulsi (Holy Basil) – An adaptogen that supports stress response and immunity. Slightly spicy and earthy, tulsi ties the blend together.

Spring Addition: Nettle

As nature starts waking up, I add nettles to support my own renewal. Nettle is:

  • Rich in minerals like iron and magnesium
  • Gently detoxifying and kidney-supportive
  • Fantastic for easing seasonal allergies

It’s like a green tonic for spring energy.

My Favorite Add-Ins

To round out the flavor and add extra benefits, I like to include:

  • A piece of vanilla bean for warmth
  • A stick of cinnamon for circulation and digestive support
  • A spoonful of local honey for allergy relief and gentle sweetness

The result? A vibrant, nourishing herbal tea that’s perfect for the season.
